Zomorrod
Tiles & Ceramic Industries Co, Bafgh was established in 1998 on a
plot of land measuring 250,000 Sqm in surface area at the 5th Km on
Central Iranian Iron-Ore Road in Bafgh Township (110 kms from
Southeast Yazd).
The initial capital of the company is an amount of Rls
80,000,000,000 having been paid in by the shareholders. About 35% of
the shares of the company has been purchased by the natives of
Bafgh
township and the remaining is owned by shareholders of different
origins. |
Machinery was initially purchased from Italy having in mind the
fabrication of 3,000,000 Sqm of diverse glazed floor tiles and it
started operating in 2003 after the machinery had been installed.
Coincident with the installment of the first set of machinery the
company obtained approval for the purchase machinery to supplement
the planned maximum yearly production rate of 8,000,000 Sqm.
The machinery to supplement the manufacturing capacity was purchased
from Nassetti Company and the same was put to operation in two
phases that is, a first part of such supplemental machinery was
brought into operation late in 2005 and early in 2006 and the second
part in a period running from late in 2006 to early in 2007.

Full operation of the establishment has now brought the
manufacturing capacity to 8,000,000 Sqm/ a year and it has directly
taken about 350 persons to work.
This is of a special importance in the economically poor and
underdeveloped locality in which the establishment is located.
The products of the company satisfy national Iranian standards and
they are supplied with the mark of the aforesaid standard.
Initiatives are currently being taken to obtain ISO 9000 certificate
as well.
